Five incorrect laying situations that affect the service life of the floor.
1. The ground is not flat.
Uneven ground will cause part of the floor and keel to hang in the air, which will make noise when stepped on.
2. The keel is not dry.
The moisture content of undried wooden keels is usually about 25%, while the moisture content of qualified wooden floors is generally 12%. Excessive humidity difference will cause the wooden floor to absorb moisture, causing the floor to arch and the paint surface to burst.
3. The splicing is too loose or too tight.
As the ambient temperature and humidity change, wooden floors will expand or contract. Therefore, when laying the floor, the tightness of the wooden floor assembly should be reasonably arranged according to the ambient temperature and humidity of the place of use. If it is too loose, large gaps will appear when the floor shrinks; if it is too tight, the floor will arch when it expands.
4. Use wooden wedges and iron nails to fix it.
5. There are crossover projects.
During construction, the floor is laid first and then other construction is carried out on the floor. This is the current common practice of the decoration team. However, after the floor is laid, it often takes a month or even longer to polish and paint. During this period, no measures were taken to remove moisture and chemicals from the floor and the surrounding environment, which is likely to cause the wooden floor to deform and crack due to rapid changes in moisture content.
